An enhanced compressor map extension method suited for spool speeds down to 1%
Journal of the Global Power and Propulsion Society. 8: 215-226, 2024

Simulating starting and windmilling with a thermodynamic cycle program is a challenge.  I've published my engine start and windmilling simulation methodology at the 2022 GPPS conference in Chania, Crete:

Starting and windmilling simulations using compressor and turbine maps
Joachim Kurzke
Journal of the Global Power and Propulsion Society. 7: 58-70, 2023

For these simulations, compressor and turbine maps containing data for very low speeds are required. In order to address this need, it was necessary to develop methods for extending maps, which were then incorporated into the experimental versions of the compressor and turbine map preparation programs, Smooth C and Smooth T. I presented the newly developed methods at the GPPS conferences 2020 and 2024:

Turbine Map Extension - Theoretical Considerations and Practical Advice
